The Álta Sea is a large bay and its approaches off western Faeland, part of the Atlantic Ocean. The sea is divided into a northern semi-enclosed area composed of several large estuaries (of the Rivers Vannder, Fresstic, Chatillon, Caethir and Liddpodeas) and to the south, separated by the Dunvho Peninsula, the Faeland City bay at the mouth of the River Edward.

Álta Sea covers an area of about 236,000 square kilometers (91,000 sq mi) and has an average depth of 148 metres (486 ft). Cape West and the Devil's Pupil are landmarks which mariners regard as the limits of the body of water.
